Hello! Yup, been a couple of weeks. A couple of heavy-duty stress filled weeks which all ended about 2 hours ago. Show's over. Let life take control again. Yay!

This shot has been sitting in the vault for weeks. Okay, I've not had the chance the roam about with my camera but I was restless and wanted to post something. Then I found this one. I remember I was on the train when I caught this. You like?

Time really flew past for me these past 2 weeks. Before I could finish one thing, another demanded my attention. And another, and another. Handling it all in my stride despite having to handle it with a couple of people who have no sense of time. Not complaining though. The work is getting done. That is it.

A pair of these feet have appeared on this blog previously and now they return with a foot of a companion. It's good to have someone to laugh and play with. As much as I love staying home with my mother and my 3 dogs, I really enjoy it when a couple of friends and me get together. We say some crazy funny things, constantly bitch about each other, behave like teenagers and when the next day comes, we get back to the responsibilties of adulthood. I guess our feet, whether in shadow or light, will always travel the same path.

Lately I've spent most my time with my macro and extra wide-angle lenses. Each one is a gem to use though I'm lean more towards the macro sight of things. Here's one to add to the flora shots of the world. I actually noticed ants on the stem and petals and wanted to shoot them but when I got my camera, they disappeared. Doesn't matter. Their absense gave me this clean shot. I really like it. Any guesses what flower this is?

Pollen, the dust of life. I'm so thankful I don't sneeze buckets or suffer from hayfever. This gives me the opportunity of getting very close to the center of a flower, which I think is the more fascinating part. Why? Cos I want to know how the birds and bees do it. I want to know what the attraction is. Now I do.

Over the shoulder: that's how I took this shot. I was having a cuppa in Menotti, my fave café in S'pore. I took my camera from my bag and rested it on my manly broad shoulders and snapped. I love the lines and effect of the lights and mirror. Can you see my reflection?

Exploring lines and shapes in shadow and light. This shot was taken at the entrance of the National Museum of Singapore. Very nice and clinical the museum is. Clean and very Wallpaper-like.

I think I'll go there again soon. Nothing spectacular inside but it's calm and quiet like a church. Great place to just sit and let my mind go blank.

Here's one I shot a few months back. I guess I was already exploring the subject of light and how it translates into an image. It obvious its a fairground ride but to me it also looks like a spaceship. Or the Statue of Liberty's crown lit up. Or in a club twirling around with the lights flashing above me. Maybe it's just me and my imagination. Imagine that.

My back's feeling better. Listening to Medeski, Martin & Wood. Funky 70s inspired instrumental with a couple of vinyl scratches thrown in for good measure. Really funky. Would get up and shake my tail feather if I could.

It's Chinese New Year and because of my back, I've been at home resting. No visiting friends and relatives. A blessing in disguise I feel. No need to be nice with that aunt you haven't seen since last Chinese New Year. Which brings be back to here and now. Time is really flying this year. I asked a couple of friends how they felt about the days passing so quickly. The general consensus is that it gets faster the older you become. HOLD ON! Wait a minute! I still have a couple of things to do when I'm 60. Will I have enough time?

Of course I will. There's always enough time. Unless you miss the deadline. I did but things still worked out in my favour. So, Time, please feel free to whizz by. My watches are in the drawer. I pay them no heed. No disrespect.

... which is the one thing I can't do right now. Earlier this afternoon, my chronic back problem returned after being dormant for a year and a half. I can only stay in one position, either standing or sitting. Seeing that standing for too long will only lead to complete boredom, I opted for the sofa. If I try to stand, a shooting pain runs from my lower back all the way down my left leg. Same thing when I sit down. Can't turn my body either. My acupuncturist warned me about this sudden paralysis. Let's just chill out.

I took this sometime before Christmas '06 at Vivo City in Singapore. I've not done anything with it till now.

The weather has taken a big turn. The storms and flooding are over but the heatwave has begun. It's been predicted we'll be experiencing a drought. The weather is really screwed up. It's all four seasons in one day. Here it's either extremely hot or terribly wet. I woke up today and suffered heatstroke the moment I walked out the door. Very very hot. Should've taken full advantage and done laundry. But didn't cos my feet had melted. I've posted this picture to help me visualize a cooler place. Thank heavens for it. I didn't need to melt all over the floor. Just had it mopped.

Everything has it's own life cycle. That's something we all know. But with a macro lens attached to your trusty camera, even death presents a side of life that continues to fascinate. Like this crispy brown leaf I found in my garden. Like any other dead leaf, I could've easily crushed it with my slippered foot. But I didn't. My dogs may have but I didn't. Just take a look at the perforations. A fresh living leaf will never show you this other side of beauty. I could stare at this for minutes, I could.

This is the reason why I admire photographers. The eye to see something else, things the rat race runners are oblivious to. Being an actor, I often have to embrace shadows and emotions most people would rather sweep under the rug. All my sights are internal. With a camera, my external sight is educated to broaden to catch the banal and turn it into something else.

On a muggy day, I'd most likely crush this dead leaf and walk away without ever seeing the beauty of nature in all it's glory. Not anymore if I can help it.

It's taken close to a year for me to figure out what I wanted to do with this blog. Now it all comes together. I've been showing off my lovely Kuala Lumpur but was feeling a bit stiffled cos I have a whole archive of pictures with no relevance to it. Flickr was a place to load whole sets but I couldn't pontificate when I wanted. Then TA-DAH! The birth of Vision 20/20.

Why vision 20/20? Firstly, I live in Malaysia and there is a government policy of achieving greatness in the world arena by the year 2020. And they ruling powers named it Vision 20/20. Secondly, I love photography and the 'visions' I get from it. Nothing spooky or clairvoyant. No apparitions caught on my compact flash card...yet. Lastly, my eyesight which was at one time perfect. However, the ravages of time have led me to don reading glasses. it's just a matter of, sigh, time before I need real spectacles. Eventually I'll have to shop for the perfect pair of frames. I'm happy I don't need driving glasses. Yet. Touch wood.

Sit back and enjoy the rest of your day. I'm going to walk in my garden now. Ooh, that sounded really poncy.
